			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have made a deep gash on my leg and a 7 day gap in my leg after falling into a pothole during thanksgiving.</p>
<p>I have been vegetarian (with fish and eggs) on and off for 5 or so years, and after continued fustration and worry with my food and nutrient intake I found myself a naturopath. She restricted some food for me &#8211; For the next three weeks i&#8217;m eliminating:</p>
<ul>
<li>nightshades</li>
<li>dairy</li>
<li>soy</li>
</ul>
<p>In addition to that and revolting against some cottage cheese on my back, a solid resolution:</p>
<p>LIVE LIFE FROM THE INSIDE   OUT &#8211; LIVE A LIFE OF MODERATION &#8211; MAKE FITNESS A WAY OF LIFE</p>
<p>Over the next 6 weeks i&#8217;m going to automate what I eat and commit to 3 2 1, 4 days a week minimum, first thing in the morning.</p>
<p>3 Cardio segments,2 Circuit strength training segments   and 1Core segment</p>

<p>This is post #1 of my 30 day log for bikram yoga. I&#8217;m going to have a body composition test done this week and will encourage myself to be documenting this month thoroughly.</p>
<p>Here is where I am right now:</p>
<p>Skin:</p>
<p>I noticed i was more flushed this morning. Usually scrub face with raw honey and sea salt in the morning, then DDF 10% Glycolic Toner topped with aloe vera.</p>
<p>Stomach:</p>
<p>Butt:</p>
<p>Arms:</p>
<p>Emotionally:</p>
<p>Energy Level: Sustaining myself, stuffy nose, averaging 2 hours of feeling extra energetic during the day &#8211; usually related to friends and hard work.</p>
<p>Diet: Consisting of cafeteria food: toast, eggs, salad bar, bites of pasta and pretzels, the odd apple. Hot cacao/soymilk. Recently added in coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. I&#8217;m laying off coffee, in lieu of researching Ayurveda. I&#8217;m a Pitta type, so it is best to focus on foods that are cooling, sweet, or bitter, and stray away from aggravating spices, sour tastes, fried and fermented food.</p>

<p>Celeb trainers like David Kirsch stress that many studies show that focusing and visualizing the muscle being worked helps it become about 10-13% stronger. However, because I&#8217;m doing cardio, I think I can justify a few distractions. I find some work better than others.</p>
<p>Heres my top 3.</p>
<p><strong>1. Video Games for Ages 5+</strong></p>

I pick weeds, plant trees, and sell fruit so I can buy furniture. Welcome to Animal Crossing. A game for 5 year olds. I find it is the perfect amount of mental stimulation for multitasking. It makes my time on the bike go as fast as when I read these:</p>

<p>Beautiful? The contrast between the two is stark. Hence I have to distract myself with oldschool video games while on the bike. Namely Pokemon and Lord of the Rings. Spunk.</p>
<p>Is Lord of the Rings oldschool yet? I can&#8217;t believe it&#8217;s been 5 years. That movie pushed me off a cliff.</p>
<p>Meals:</p>

<li>Egg Whites and Flax, 2x Banana With Spinach Cacao Maca Spirulina</li>
<li>Kiwi, Egg Whites and Flax, Half of a Vitamin Water</li>

<li>Intervals on bike for 25 mins (peaking at 30mph with resistance at 3 -&gt; My butt almost fell off. Tomorrow I&#8217;m expecting a booty call from Lance Armstrong. Mind you, he holds out for 1 hr at that speed &#8211; I went 36 seconds.)</li>
<li>Another 20 mins of steady cardio (Blaming video games for that)</li>
</ul>

<li>Lateral Flys with 5lb dumbells (3 sets of 10 for everything)</li>

<p>A few months ago I was very persistant and disciplined in my raw food habits &#8211; and just recently I&#8217;ve been slipping off the ship. In every way imaginable too! My energy is in the toilet, I feel like a walking poop-sack, my skin is rough, lips are shriveled and chapped, stomach is bloated, and my eyes are foggy and tired.</p>
<p>Normally, this wouldn&#8217;t be an issue, but since experiencing the elatedness of being raw, being lethargic is even more apparent to me now.</p>
<p>How have I changed my diet?</p>
<p>I have been worried about protein, calcium, and B12, especially because I&#8217;m on the run and often forget my supplements/meals. So I began to add in eggs, whey protein, instant oatmeal with soy, and the odd burrito, even some icecream. Relatively healthy cooked-food, but cooked nevertheless.</p>
<p>Before I had been eating mainly banana green smoothies with an assortment of maca, carob, hemp, matcha, mesquite, bee pollen, and goji berries. Soymilk instead of water. I felt fantastic. But again, I was worried about the B12 and calcium.</p>
<p>So cooked food crept back into my life for a moment there.</p>
<p>I have decided that I&#8217;ll dive back into a raw diet, plus the occasional egg for now.<br />
And alas, my workout has been super non-existant lately, to my dismay. I am completely convinced it&#8217;s added to the lethargy. So that will be picked up right&#8230;NOW!</p>
<p>I have been pumping myself up reading Olympic magazines, namely articles on Micheal Phelps swimming technique. I&#8217;ll probably jump the university pool tomorrow afternoon, it&#8217;ll be hard to resist.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve also gone a long period of not keeping records of what I do with the hopes that I would improve &#8216;organically&#8217;. That plan feel on its ass. Flat. Down. Bam. I&#8217;m a tub of moosh. So I&#8217;ll be posting a little something something at the end of each post: a detailed move by move catalogue of my workout.</p>
<p>This will keep me accountable and focused, and maybe help you get your booty moving too!</p>
<p>All plans aside&#8230;Workout for today:</p>
<p><strong>Cardio:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> 20 minutes of intervals on stationary bike</li>
<li> Mountain Climbers during recovery</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Legs/Butt:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> 20 squats with 5lb dumbells</li>
<li> Leg lifts (crab position)</li>
<li> Donkey kicks</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Abs:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li> Sit ups on ball during recovery</li>
<li> Twists with medicine ball</li>
</ul>
<p>By the way, it&#8217;s 11:45PM. I am inventing no excuses, for the record.</p>
<p>And I&#8217;m ogg! I mean off!</p>
